“Where there is no struggle, there is no strength,” said Oprah Winfrey, an author, actor and a talk show host. This quote is a great way of expressing the hardships of a real estate agent. Jahnavi Kundooru is a budding real estate agent approaching the New Jersey market. This is Kundooru’s first time having a side hustle and she is working to the best of her capability.

Once Kundooru decided to embark on this journey, she spent months studying for her license, took the exam, and learned everything she could about property laws, market trends, and New Jersey’s diverse neighborhoods before starting a real estate firm. However, the real challenge came when she had to put theory into practice. She realized that it was not just about selling homes, but about building relationships and gaining trust in a competitive industry.

Kundooru’s first big opportunity came when she stumbled upon a young couple looking for their first home. They were eager but nervous of the financial responsibility and unsure of what they wanted. During their first meeting, she listened intently to the couple’s wishes and concerns and asked the right follow up questions. Kundooru knew it was her time to shine and prepared hard to impress the clients, researching the current houses up for sale and finding those that best suited their interests. Her goal was not just to sell them a house, but to help them find a place they could call a nest.

As she moved through the process, she encountered the realities of the market: bidding wars, higher mortgage rates, and the couple's growing anxiety. Despite all the hardships, she was patient. When they finally found the perfect home, she negotiated with the sellers and secured a deal that made everyone happy.

The day the couple closed the deal, Kundooru felt a sense of accomplishment that warmed her body, seeing the happy couple walk into their forever home. It was not just about the money she made, but the knowledge that she gained and the role she played in a family’s life-changing decision. The first sale was more than just a milestone, but proof of her ability to connect to her clients. When she handed the keys to the couple, she knew this was just the beginning of a satisfying career in real estate.

Even though a lot of people say that buying and selling a house is easy, Kundooru wants it to go out as a message to the world that it takes a lot to be a real estate agent. All Kundooru wants to do is to find a forever home for as many families as she can.
