HACKATHON 2020
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2020 DESIGN CHALLENGE HACKATHON WINNERS!
The first place winners for the Design challenge Hackathon was a team from Wootton, including Ellie Metz, Charlotte Christovich, Emily Hoyle, Sydney Kauff, and Katilyn Chuang. They prototyped “The Recycle Buddy”, a smart chip that can be attached to trash and recycle bins to let people know if a product is recyclable.
The second place winners was a team from St. Andrews, including Edith Erickson, Maya Noboa, Cece Fainberg, and Olivia Kindfuller. They prototyped an app called “Pure” which offers lifestyle options, such as food, clothing, and cosmetics, for vegans and vegetarians.
The third place winners was a team from Sidwell Friends including Elise Reeder, Carma Abu-Elnaj, Golpari Abari, and Elizabeth Panner. They prototyped “The Kel” which is a trivet that absorbs heat energy from the kitchen and is later used to charge electronic devices.
